About Us

It is a tremendous honor to welcome you to the Association for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Life in Higher Education (ACLSHE, pronounced “axle”)! We are made up of chaplains, directors and deans of religious and spiritual life, and more. We come from diverse religious backgrounds, races, LGBTQ identities, and life experiences. We serve at institutions of higher education across the United States, from small liberal arts colleges to large research institutions. We serve the needs of undergraduates, graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, administrators, and local communities. We are diverse in many ways but united in our sincere desire to serve.
