    Description:

    MIT seeks an  Interfaith Chaplain and Program Director to foster interfaith understanding, spiritual well-being, and ethical growth for the MIT community through the leadership of two key programs--the Addir Interfaith Dialogue Fellows and the Radius program in ethics.

     

    Will administer the Addir and Radius programs and ensure that program operations run smoothly; facilitate the growth and development of student participants in the Addir Fellows and coach student leaders; and design and implement lectures, workshops, and discussion groups about important ethical issues, particularly related to scientific and technological developments.  Will report directly to the chaplain to the Institute/associate dean.  A full description is available at https://studentlife.mit.edu/content/dsl-open-positions


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree (master’s preferred) in a related field
    • Three years of experience, preferably in higher education
    • Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
    • Understanding of and experience with young adult development
    • Understanding of diverse religious traditions and successful strategies for interfaith engagement
    • Experience in program development
    • Understanding of ethical issues
    • Experience with effective strategies for advocacy
